As 2026 approaches and many businesses wind down for the Christmas and New Year period, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the year that’s been.
Below is a summary of some of the highlights from our year at Lark Business Advisory.

Expanding our Team
As a result of the rapid growth at Lark, our HR focus this year was to recruit an additional full-time Senior Accountant. The current environment for hiring accountants is continuing to be the tightest market I can ever recall in my career and a very competitive one at that.
Despite these challenges, we were delighted to welcome Yadhu Mohan to the team in May 2025 as a Senior Accountant. Yadhu brings substantial experience in taxation and accounting and has quickly built strong relationships with the clients he works with.
It’s very exciting to be able to expand our team despite the challenges of a tight employment market.
Referrals
Throughout 2025, we were once again fortunate to receive an exceptional number of referrals from both clients and professional colleagues. We are sincerely grateful to everyone who trusted us to look after their family members, friends, and colleagues.

Regular Visits to our Sydney & South East Queensland Clients
In 2025, just like in previous years, we made several visits to Sydney to meet with clients at their business premises and homes, as well as visits to our Brisbane office and to clients across South East Queensland.
These face-to-face meetings are an important part of building strong, personal relationships with our clients. They allow us to better understand their goals and challenges and to provide more tailored support. We look forward to continuing these valuable visits in 2026!
Client Function
In February, we hosted our annual Client Function at our office as a way of acknowledging and thanking our clients for their continued support. The evening was a wonderful opportunity to connect in a relaxed setting, enjoying great conversation alongside a selection of lovely wines and finger food.
Technical Training
We firmly believe that ongoing education and professional development are essential to ensuring our team remains at the forefront of industry developments and continues to deliver exceptional service to our clients.
As in previous years, all accountants at Lark participated in a two-hour monthly taxation update, led by a taxation specialist we have partnered with for many years.
In addition, we continue to invest in team development through participation in the National Tax & Accountants’ Association’s monthly program, Tax on the Couch.
Team Communication Training Sessions
This year, we held two in-office team communication training sessions facilitated by our mentor, Russell Warmington.
These sessions focused on strengthening how we communicate with one another and, most importantly, how we engage with and support our clients.
Carlton In Business
This year, we continued our membership with Carlton In Business, a leading corporate network comprising of more than 160 member organisations.
Being part of this network has provided valuable opportunities to attend a range of networking events, including Industry Leaders gatherings and roundtable discussions alongside fellow business leaders.
It has been a pleasure connecting with like-minded professionals at such high-quality events throughout the year. The Carlton In Business team truly excels at hosting outstanding networking events!
Match Alliance
This year, we were introduced to The Match Alliance, a business networking group that connects business owners with like-minded professionals to create opportunities to work together.
We have enjoyed expanding our network of contacts and have also appreciated the referrals received through the Match Alliance network.
Attending the 2×2 World Latvian Youth Seminar
Our CEO, Eric Cirulis, had the opportunity to lead a workshop on The Formula for Leadership Success at the 2×2 World Latvian Youth Seminar in South Australia in June. Lark Business Advisory was also proud to be a sponsor of this event. It was a fantastic opportunity to share practical leadership insights with a group of emerging young leaders.
